Side lift :Yes End Lift NO!
In our opinion and here’s why!
If you choose a very cheap or poorly made ottoman bed, then it's more likely to collapse under the raised weight of the mattresses on a cheaply made gas strut that lifts from the head end known as end lift.
A Derbyshire mum is warning parents about the potential dangers of end lift Ottoman beds after she found her son ‘blue in the face’ and hanging by his neck from the bed’s lifting loop ( info from Daily Telegraph) The accident is being investigated by Derbyshire County Council’s Trading Standards team.. Two other little girls previously had had other similar accidents and one was in a coma from the end lift straps handles. Recently a 39-year-old Mum of two in Hartlepool, was found dead by her daughter where again the end lift ottoman came crashing down on top of her and she choked and died ( info from BBC). Another lady in Turkey was also believed to have been killed by an end lift ottoman failing and it also came crashing down on top of her. We urge you not to take the risk with an END LIFT ottoman and always stay safe with a SIDE LIFT ottoman. Side Lift ottomans just work and work well. They are the original and the best in our Bed Expert opinion.
