This is a 12.5 gauge (the lower the gauge the firmer the spring) bonnell open coil spring unit, and for a firmer feel and edge, a 6 gauge fully framed rounded edge is used. This firm gauge spring unit combined with a luxurious upholstered top on an overall 10? mattress is a great combination for a better nights sleep.
